Ft. Stewart 4th of July

Ft. Stewart hosted a big carnival plus a bunch of other activities on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th of July. We went down on the 3rd to avoid the 4th of July crowd. I didn't know how Zachary and Emmalyn would do on the rides because it has been a while for them, but they were great. They went on all the rides and some of them twice. Everything was free but the food (which pretty much made up for the free rides it was so expensive.) But we had a blast.

We were also kind of sad because we could not go to the water park or the pool because of possible lightening. We walked all the way from the carnival down to the PX to buy swimsuits (because yes I forgot ours), and that was a very long walk. Thankfully though all the swimsuits were on serious clearance so I got both Zachary and Emmalyn a swimsuit for $10. NICE! We finally made it all the way down to the water play area and waited for the bathroom and got changed and were walking to the park when the lightning alarm went off. The kids were pretty disappointed. There was a NASCAR display really close to the area so we went and looked at all of that so that was fun, and decided to just go home. We had been there for 4 hours already and the kids were pretty pooped, as was I for that matter. We then had to walk all the way back to the carnival to get picked up to go home.

Here we are in the shuttle bus on the way there. They had busses that were running from Hunter AAF to Ft. Stewart so we thought we take advantage in order to save some gas. It was especially fun because we were the only ones on the bus. Coming home was a little frustrating since they didn't have very specifically designated pick-up locations for returning home so I spent about and hour wandering around trying to find where to get picked up. I eventually called the bus "people" and they sent someone out.
