Learning about money

We recently had a family home evening about tithing and savings since we had started giving Zachary and Emmalyn an allowance for chores.  We needed a project to do yesterday and we also needed a place for them to put their new savings so we invented new savings banks using Crystal Light containers, paper and Mod Podge.  They turned out super cute and we had a great time together doing it.

I also told them that if they saved up enought we would open them each a savings account at the bank.  I need to find out what the minimum required amount is at the local bank.

Emmalyn's had 2 sides so you're seeing a picture of the front and the back. She is saving money for college.

And here's Zachary's complete with red hair.  He is saving for his mission.

They were both very insistent on having the correct color of hair.  I thought this was cute.

I think our next project will be a nature journal to take with us on outings with the home school group.
